  • The National Gallery Trafalgar Square London United Kingdom (map)

Summary

In the morning, we discussed the collection and new display of Baroque art. The collection was researched and redisplayed by Helen Hillyard, the National Gallery Curatorial Trainee, supported by the Art Fund with the assistance of the Vivmar Foundation. Helen and Anna Dolecka, Learning Officer at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, explained how they consulted audiences and schools before developing the new displays and accompanying learning materials.

In the afternoon, there were four presentations about works in the collection by Aidan Weston Lewis, Chief Curator, National Galleries of Scotland; Robert Wenley, Head of Learning and Collections, the Barber Institute of Fine Arts; Letizia Treves, Curator of Italian and Spanish paintings 1600-1800, National Gallery; and Helen Hillyard.
