News from our curatorial trainees

The National Gallery's curatorial trainees, Sylvie Broussine and Lucy West, are now thoroughly engrossed in their projects at our two partner venues: Auckland Castle and Ferens Art Gallery, Hull.

Lucy has been carrying out research into the collection at Ferens Art Gallery and working on its redisplay, which has culminated in the in-focus exhibition 'Pietro Lorenzetti – Siena to Hull: A Masterpiece Revealed'; while Sylvie has been playing a key role in the planning of an exciting new Spanish art gallery, due to open at Auckland Castle in 2019.

Launched in 2011, the traineeships are the third phase of the initiative, which is run jointly by the National Gallery and Art Fund, with assistance from the Vivmar Foundation, to nurture the next generation of curators.
