SSN European Paintings pre-1900 secures funding from Arts Council England

We are delighted to announce that the SSN European Paintings pre-1900 has just been confirmed as one of 11 Subject Specialist Networks to be awarded funding from Arts Council England. Arts Council will support SSN activities and projects from January 2019 until June 2020. Further information is available via the Arts Council website.

Under the umbrella of the National Gallery’s nationwide programme we look forward to providing many more opportunities for collaboration, professional development and knowledge exchange for UK museum and gallery staff working with historic European paintings.

We will begin 2019 with a collaboration with the Islamic Art & Material Culture SSN on the topic of ‘East meets West - Islamic Objects in Renaissance Paintings’, held at the National Gallery in London on 16th January 2019. For more details please click here.
