National Gallery touring exhibition: George Shaw at The Collection, Lincoln

During his residency as the National Gallery's Rootstein Hopkins Associate Artist during 2014-2016, George Shaw (born in Coventry in 1966) was based in a studio at the Gallery and was able to explore the collection out out hours. He created more than fifty new paintings and drawings that offer a fresh and contemporary response to the mythological landscapes painted by masters such as Titain, Poussin and Constable.

The result of George Shaw's residency, first shown in 2016 at the National Gallery, are now being shown outside London as part of the touring exhibition 'My Back to Nature', currently hosted by The Collection in Lincoln until 14 January 2018.
